IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS
Guidelines for Parents
Parents are kindly requested to cooperate with the school by following these rules:
Encourage your child to be regular and punctual in school.
Keep track of your child’s academic progress and behavior by reviewing school reports.
Meet the Principal occasionally to discuss your child’s progress.
Ensure that your child records daily lessons in the school diary.
Teach your child to keep textbooks and exercise books neat and tidy. All communication should be addressed to the Principal/Headmaster.
Regularly check the remarks section in the School Diary, sign it, and stay updated.
Parents are responsible for their child’s safety during any school-organized trips or outings.
Parents Are Requested:
Not to visit teachers during school hours.
Attend all Parent-Teacher Meetings to stay informed about their child’s progress.
Encourage their child to participate in all school activities.
Ensure their child wears a neat and proper uniform to school.
Not to give mobile phones or vehicles to their child.
Check the school prospectus daily to stay updated with important information.
ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE:
Regular attendance is essential for a student’s academic success. If a student needs leave, a written application must be submitted in advance and only for serious reasons. In cases of illness or unexpected circumstances, the student must bring a written note from their parent or guardian explaining the absence. This note must be countersigned by the Principal before the student is allowed to attend class. Leave applications should be recorded in the School Calendar next to the relevant date.
If a student is absent for 15 days without prior leave, their name may be removed from the class list, and re-admission will require payment of the usual admission fee. Additionally, no student is allowed to miss an exam or test except for health reasons, in which case a medical certificate must be submitted.
Home Study and Parental Co-operation:
Parents are encouraged to understand the importance of dedicated study time for their child’s success. A minimum of 2 to 3 hours of home study is necessary for effective learning. While private tuitions are discouraged, they may be considered only after consulting the Principal. Teachers are not allowed to tutor their own students or students from the classes they teach.
A student’s conduct and academic progress will be reported from time to time in the school calendar. Parents are expected to review these reports, keep track of examination results, and meet with teachers and the Principal occasionally. Parents are strictly requested not to enter the classrooms directly. Meetings with teachers can be scheduled on the last Saturday of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., as notified.
For security reasons, parents should drop off their children near the main gate and cooperate with security personnel. No vehicles are allowed beyond the main gate.
When inquiring or writing to the school regarding their children, parents must mention the standard and section in which their child is currently studying.
Examination :
The academic year consists of two semesters, and the final result is calculated based on Semester Exams, Unit Tests, and Internal Assessments.
A student who fails to be promoted will lose any fee concessions for the following year and may be advised to leave the school. Promotion will not be reconsidered once refused.
If a student fails twice in the same class, they must discontinue their studies in the school.
Progress cards will be sent to parents/guardians, who must review and return them duly signed to the class teacher within two days.
Any violation of exam rules will result in strict action:
- If misconduct occurs during a Terminal Examination, the entire exam will be canceled.
- If misconduct happens during the Final Examination, the student may face expulsion from the school.
Written examinations will not be postponed under any circumstances.
Promotion to the next grade is based on Promotion Rules and is granted only if the student has at least 80% attendance and maintains good conduct throughout the year.
Malpractice:
A student caught copying or engaging in any kind of malpractice will not be allowed to appear for the next examination unless the Principal grants written permission. In such cases, the student must bring their parent to meet the Principal. Additionally, any student found guilty of malpractice will not be promoted.
Regarding library rules, students are not allowed to keep a book for more than two weeks without special permission. If a book is lost or damaged, the student will be required to pay a fine. All library books must be returned at least two weeks before each examination.
Responsibility of Class Leaders:
a) The Class Teacher must carefully select suitable monitors and submit their names to the Principal for approval. Only with the Principal’s consent will the monitors be appointed for a period of five months.
b) Monitors must display exemplary conduct and be diligent in their studies.
