To congratulate our students who took part in various competition held during the academic year 2022-23, we had a short Prize Distribution program .

Fun and Frolic at Great Escape

On the 24th of February 160 students accompanied by 8 teachers and their Principal Fr. DanielJoy had a memorable time at Great Escape, a Water Park situated in Thane district of Maharashtra
The Children enjoyed themselves on the various slides and rides that the Water Park had to offer. It was indeed a great and once in a life time experience for many students.

Birthday Celebration and Xerox machine Inaguration

Sr.Magdelene’s Birthday Celebration and New Xerox machine Inaguration
Sr.Magdele’s birthday was celebrated on 7th Feb.
New Xerox machine was inaugurated by Sr. Magdelene and Our Prncipal Rev.Fr. Daniel Joy. Xerox machine is contributed by Std XII Science & Commerce Students of 2021-22 batch.

Live Disaster Management Demonstration

A team of experts from the Fire Department led by Mr.Bharat Singh Rathore imparted valuable knowledge to our children with regards to Disaster Management.
They demonstrated what needs to be done during rescue situations.
They enlightened the children on snake bites, drowning, earthquakes and fire rescue.

Career Counselling and Aptitude Testing

A career guidance program was organised for the students of Std 9 to 12 on 10th and 11th February 2023. Maa Foundation conducted a psychometric test and gave a career report to all the students which made them aware of their interest areas, personality type and various aptitudes to determine the future educational path.

Pariksha pe Charcha

The Live streaming of Pariksha pe Charcha 2023 was organized in the school hall on Jan 27 at 11 am for the students of std 6th – 12th. During the event, our PM interacted with the students, teachers and parents across the country and shared valuable tips on how to take board exam in a relaxed and stress free manner.

74th Republic Day Celebrations

The Republic Day was celebrated at St Mary’s Chanod with a lot of patriotic fervor on the 26th of January at 8:00am. The function began with the unfurling of the flag by the Chief Guest Mr. Vaibhav Dami.
This was followed by a one hour cultural program that comprised of march past, patriotic songs, dances, speech etc.
In his address to the students the Chief Guest spoke about the importance of education. He urged the students to study hard and make a future for themselves.
On this occasion students who excelled in sports and academics were also felicitated.

A Day Out at Imagica

On the 19th of January 210 students of Standards 8 to 12 spent a day to cherish at Imagicaa, a famous Amusement Park in Thane district of Maharastra. The park is renowned for its breathtaking and jaw dropping rides.
The children were accompanied by 8 teachers and their Principal Fr. Daniel Joy.

POETRY TELLING COMPETITION

Tiny Tots enthusiastically took part in POETRY TELLING COMPETITION held on 12/01/2023.
It is always joyful to see and hear them.
They impress us with their actions, expressions and pronunciation which is not always perfect.But YES we still enjoy seeing and hearing them.

Inter-school Fancy Dress Competition

Pre- primary section participated in Inter-school Fancy Dress Competition held in PIETY NURSERY SCHOOL in Silvassa.
Jr.Kg got 3rd prize in the competition.

CHILDREN DAY CELEBRATION

Childhood is the blessing and the most fun filled phase of life. This special day is celebrated in remembrance of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, born on November 14, 1889.

This day was celebrated in our school. The celebration began with the morning prayer at 8:00 a.m. which was conducted by our teachers. Our Principal offered a garland of flowers to a respectable personality Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Our Principal addressed the students by speaking about the importance of the day and motivated them for the well being of society. He told the students about Pandit Nehru and how much he loved kids. He also joined the song with the teachers by playing the guitar. In order to appreciate the students efforts, certificates and trophies were given to the winners who participated in various competitions. A Short Movie was shown to the classes of 1st to 4th. To make this day a memorable and fun-filled one, the children were taken out of the classrooms to our school green campus and enjoyed the games like kabaddi, Kho-Kho. All the children were given chocolates and were left at 11:35 a.m. The students were overwhelmed and enjoyed the day.

DIWALI CELEBRATION

Diwali celebration was held in our school on 18/10/2022. Card making, Diya decoration,Thali decoration, Rangoli and Kandil making competitions were conducted for students.
May this Diwali brings happiness and prosperity for all.

NAVRATRI CELEBRATION

Nine Avtars of Maa Durga bless us with nine qualities. Power,Happiness,
Humanity,Peace,
Knowledge, Devotion,Name,Fame and Health.
In our school Navratri celebration was held on4/10/2022.Students and Teachers had played Garba. Best Garba player and best costume were chosen among students and teachers.Prize distribution was done by the Principal

GANDHI Jyanti CELERATION

Report on Gandhi Jayanti 2022:-
Committee had sort out the programmed for 2nd october.teachers were assigned duties for programmed.teachers and students had assembled in the school ground at 8 am. Assembly prayer was conducted by the
students. After the assembly principal paid tribute to the portrait of mahatma Gandhi with garland.A bhajan song was sung by tr.sushmita and group.std students of 11 sci give a speech on importance of cleanliness.our principal also gave an inspirational speech of gandhiji. A skit was played by student showing the importance of cleanliness. After the assembly students of 10 A and 10 B were divided into two groups.two groups went out of the school for cleanliness . Some students remained in the school campus for the cleaning.the programme end at 8.45 am.

XV INTERMISSION ELOCUTION COMPETITION

XV INTERMISSION ELOCUTION COMPETITION was held in our school. Sixteen schools have participated in English and Hindigroup. We won the championship trophy in English Group. Runner’s up trophy won by St. Xaviers High school Silvassa. In Hindi group St.Francis Xaviers won the championship trophy and Gyanmatha high-school Dapadda won the Runner’s up trophy.

Investiture Ceremony

“Motivation gets you Going but Discipline keeps you Growing “

The Investiture Ceremony was held on the 28th of June. The programme began at 8:30 am with the Lighting of the Lamp as a sign of good wishes and blessings.

The new student council were officially installed by giving badges by the school Manager Rev. Fr. Herald Matthias. Oath was also taken by the student council so that they carry out their responsibilities with love and dedication.

In order to encourage the students Rev. Fr. Herald urged them not to be competitive but collaborative and work for the unity and betterment of the school. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Daniel said that Discipline and Leadership are two vital qualities that need to be cultivated. These qualities help us to become responsible citizens of the future.

Badges were given to class-wise Monitors and Prayer group students. With this we ended our Investiture Ceremony Programme at 9:15 am. with Vote of Thanks.

Environment DAY

Our School Celebrated Environment Day on 18th of June. Following were some of the activities conducted on this day.

Std 3 to 6 participated in Slogan Raising Competition.

Std 7 to 8 participated in Poster Making Competition.

Std 9 to 12 participated in Collage Making Competition.

School first Day

On the 13th of June the Students of class 1- 12th Standard were greeted and welcomed by the Principal and teachers. The Principal Fr. Daniel Joy urged the students to make the best use of the new Academic Year by putting in their best efforts not only in academics but also other co curricular activities conducted by the school.

On the 15th of June the Students of 11th Standard were greeted and welcomed by lighting the candles as light symbolizes one’s bright future ahead.

On the 10th  of June we welcomed our new Principal Rev. Fr. Daniel Joy Narakaden and two new sisters Rev. Sr. Magdalena D’Souza and Rev. Sr. Flavia Leitao to our St. Mary’s Family.

YOGA DAY

 BKS Iyengar says “Yoga does not just change the way we see things.  It transforms the person who sees it.”

Yoga Day was held on the 21st of June. Understanding the importance of Yoga and its benefits all the students along with the Principal and teachers performed various Yoga exercises to commemorate this Day.

75th Independence Day was celebrated in St. Mary’s School. Dr. Vaibhav Nandakari was our Chief guest. At 8:00 am flag hoisting ceremony was conducted by singing National Anthem. Thereafter we had Independence Day program. Patriotic song was sung by various House Students. Heart touching speech was delivered by our Chief Guest. And also by our school Head boy and by a teacher. There was prize distribution for students for various activities conducted by school. The function came to an end at 9:30 with the vote of thanks.

ELOCUTION

“The Success of your presentation will be judged not by the

     knowledge  you send but by what the listener receives”

Storytelling, Elocution, Debate & Extempore competition was conducted on 22 July 2022.

The objective of this competition was to make the students confident and better orators so that they can fearlessly express their views.

QUIZ COMPETITION 22-23

Inter class quiz competition was conducted in St. Mary’s School on 03rd August 2022. Our  Principal attended the quiz and witnessed the Quiz and encouraged the participants during the quiz. It started sharp at 8:30 AM. By welcoming the participants on the dais. A Quiz is a quick and informal assessment of students knowledge.

  • It was conducted classwise : 5th to 8th  Group I       and    9th to 12th  Group II

Competition consisted of four rounds which covered various areas such as Science, Social Science, General Knowledge, Current Affairs etc.

There were four rounds in each group

  1. Hit the Target
  2. Guess me
  3. Audio Visual
  4. Rapid Fire Round

And the winners were as follows:

First Position : NavidNanumiya Shaikh & Jay NimeshbhaiBhanushali from VI B.   

Second Position : Virat Vinod Yadav & Jaden Anil Norohha from  V.    

Third Position : DikshaBijendra Yadav & MahekNipendra Singh from  VIII A. 

Group II

First Position : Aryan NanhuKushwaha & RudraRajkumar Mishra from  XI Sci.   

Second Position : IshaNavratanJangid & Khushi Raju Ingale from  X A.    

Third Position : Shivam Manoj Tiwari & Abjal Salahuddin Khan from X B.

All the winners were appreciated for showing their talent and working hard to achieve success.

A quiz is a good way of testing as well as improving general knowledge, it also gives us training in thinking fast and expressing ourselves properly.

The students participated with lot of enthusiasm in this quiz as after a span of 2 years students got to participate in such competition in the school.

Quiz was well organized by the Quiz Team of St. Mary’s School.

The event was concluded by a vote of thanks.

Raksha bandhan

Raksha bandhan is the celebration of the love of brother and sister.
It is one of the most auspicious festivals in India. In this festival a sister ties the Rakhi thread on the wrist of her dearest brother and prays to God for his protection from all the evils and give him a long and prosperous life .
Rakhi gifts also capture the essence of the festival and therefore despite the distance between the siblings,
Sister always ensure to send Rakhi with gifts to their brothers along with some heart- touching message to express their love
and affection.
Message from Brahmakumaris on Raksha bandhan: There was a short seminar on Raksha bandhan conducted by Sr.Supriya.
She explained the deep meaning of Rakshabandhan. She told Rakshabandhan is not only Symbol of the bond between
brother&sister but it is the unbreakable bond between the almighty God &human.After concluding seminar she tied
Rakhis to everyone & distributed sweets.

Our School celebrated Rakhi making Competition under the guidance of our Principal Fr. Daniel. This Competition was conducted groupwise from Std I-XII. Rakhi making Comp.was organised .
