NAVRATRI CELEBRATION
The celebration of Navratri took place on October 23, 2023. At 7:45 a.m., every student and teacher were in the classroom. All the teachers and students assembled on the ground for Garba after prayer and attendance. We began with Aarti, then Prasad, and finally Garba. Each student and teacher arrived dressed traditionally. Judges awarded points by selecting the top players and costumes. Four kids received prizes by 10:00 am, and by 10:30 am, the celebration was ended and the children left for their homes.
Mental Maths Championships
Some of our school students participated in the Mental Maths Championships held in Mumbai.
Most of them performed exceptionally well in their respective categories.
Master Jaden Noronha won the Championship in the Rubik’s Cube Category.
Master Mohammad Eshan Khan won runners-up in the Flash Maths Championship
Master Nishant Chauhan was declared runners-up in his category, while Master Sanjay Rajput won the Audio Maths Championship.
TEACHER's DAY CELEBRATION
The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards. Our St. Mary’s School has organised teacher’s day on 5th September, 2023, the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former president of India. The students of std 11th have taken active participation in the programme. They showed their love and respect in the form of dance. Token of love was given by Oue Manager Rev Fr. Herald Mathias and Our Principal Rev. Father Daniel Joy to all the teaching and non-teaching staff. Games was organised by the students to make the day a fun-filled one. The programme ended at 12:30p.m.
Rakhi Making Competition
Joyous Rakhi Making Competition Celebrated on 25/08/23
A delightful Rakhi making competition was held on the 25th of August, 2023, bringing joy and enthusiasm to all participants. The event, which lasted for an hour, provided students with a platform to exhibit their creativity and skills in crafting Rakhi. This year’s competition introduced innovative themes of woolen Rakhi and best out of waste, sparking fresh excitement among the students.
The competition witnessed active participation from the students, who thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to create Rakhi with a unique twist. The incorporation of woolen materials and repurposed items added an element of novelty to the traditional craft. The event not only encouraged artistic expression but also promoted sustainable practices through the utilization of waste materials.
A panel of judges was appointed to evaluate the intricate designs and imaginative concepts showcased by the students. With the unwavering support of the school principal, the event was orchestrated seamlessly, resulting in a successful and memorable day.
Preceding the competition, a special session was conducted on the 23rd of August, 2023, by the members of Brahmama Kumari’s Vidyalaya. During this session, students were enlightened about the significance of Rakshabandhan, a traditional Indian festival that celebrates the bond of protection and affection between siblings. The informative session added a deeper understanding of the festival’s cultural and emotional importance.
In conclusion, the Rakhi making competition held on the 25th of August, 2023, was a resounding success. The event not only fostered creativity and camaraderie among the students but also provided them with insights into the cultural roots of Rakshabandhan. The school’s commitment to innovative and meaningful events was evident through the seamless execution of the competition, leaving an indelible mark on the participants’ hearts and minds.
XVI INTERMISSION ELOCUTION
XVI INTERMISSION ELOCUTION WAS HOSTED BY ST.MARY’S SCHOOL CHANOD on 28th August2023.16 Mission shools participated in this competition in English and Hindi. The champions in English are St. Xavier’s School,Silvassa and in Hindi St. Francis Xavier High school Dudhni. Runners up in English Fr. Angel School, Pardi and in Hindi Isu Ruday High School, Dapadda.
INDEPENDANCE DAY 2023-2024
The 77th Independence day was celebrated in St. Mary school with great enthusiasm by all the students and teachers of the school .
The school campus was decorated with balloons and flags .All students and teachers reported to the school by 7:30am. In the presence of all ,the national flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest Mrs Avnish Srivastava .The Principal then introduced the chief guest to the students.
The chief guest was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp The children then enthralled everyone with their patriotic songs and dance. The songs and dance were interspaced by spaches. This was all followed by a message delivered by the Chief Guest on the occasion of our country’s 77th Independence Day. The program ended with the vote of thanks delivered by one of our students.
The day was even more memorable as some of our ex-students were also present . We ended our program by 9:30am.

St. Mary’s School held its annual investiture ceremony was held on 08/07/23 with great enthusiasm and pride. The event was graced by the presence of Fr. Lawrence Fernandes, a renowned priest, as the Chief Guest. The investiture ceremony is a significant event in the school’s calendar as it marks the appointment of student leaders who will shoulder various responsibilities throughout the academic year 2023-2024. The investiture ceremony commenced with the arrival of Fr. Lawrence Fernandes. He was warmly welcomed by the school principal, staff members, and students. Fr. Lawrence Fernandes has a remarkable reputation for his contributions to society and his guidance in moral and spiritual matters. To invoke divine blessings, a soulful prayer was offered. The Chief Guest, Fr. Lawrence Fernandes, then lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the pursuit of knowledge. The highlight of the event was the investiture ceremony, where the newly appointed Head boy, Head girl, all four house captains, and Vice captains were officially entrusted with their roles and responsibilities. The Chief Guest, Fr. Lawrence Fernandes, individually adorned each student leader with their respective badges and sashes. The student leaders took an oath, pledging their commitment to fulfil their duties with sincerity and dedication. They promised to uphold the values of the institution and work towards the betterment of the school and its students. Fr. Lawrence Fernandes addressed the audience with an inspiring speech. He spoke about the significance of leadership and the power of service to society. He encouraged the student leaders to lead by example and emphasised the importance of values such as compassion, humility, and perseverance. Monitor batches were distributed to students with great anticipation. Each batch was handed out personally by the school Principal, symbolising the trust and responsibility bestowed upon the chosen leaders and fostering a sense of pride and motivation among the student body. The school principal addressed the gathering, expressing his gratitude for Fr. Lawrence Fernandes’ presence and emphasising the importance of student leadership. A vote of thanks was delivered by a student representative, expressing gratitude to Fr. Lawrence Fernandes for gracing the occasion. The student representative also thanked the school management, teachers, and parents for their support and guidance. The investiture ceremony held at St. Mary’s School was a memorable event, inspiring students to take up leadership roles and serve their school and community. The presence of Fr. Lawrence Fernandes, a renowned priest, added an aura of spirituality and guidance. With the newly appointed student leaders, St. Mary’s School looks forward to a year filled with progress, unity, and growth.
International Yoga Day - 2023
International Yoga Day is observed every year on June 21.
Yoga is a practice which plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting people’s immune system.
Today, on 21st June 2023, out school celebrated International Yoga Day. It was attended by School Principal,
teachers and Students of our schools with great enthusiasm.
The event began with a brief introduction on Yoga Day by the principal .
Warm up exercises were taken and all the students practiced & performed sitting and standing asanas,
importance of these were explained simultaneously.
World Environment Day - 2023
Let us nurture nature to have a nurturing future. The World Environment, Celebration programme was organized in st. Mary’s school on 10th with the encouragement and appreciation of Principal Rev. Fr. Daniel Joy and the manager
Students of std. III – XII participated in various competition enthusiastically to make the celebration superb.

Olympiad Exam Year:22 -23
National Maths and Science Olympiad exams were conducted on 22nd Nov and 30th Nov’22 respectively.
125 students participated from Std 2 to 12 in which 22 students won the gold medal of excellence.
All students received participation certificate and detail performance analysis report .
3 students qualified for the second level exam and received Merit certificate.
A Seminar Conducted by Genius Kids Academy
The Genius Kid Academy headed by Mr. Peter Noronha conducted a seminar for the parents of our students on the 24th of March 23. He requested the parents to give them 100 hours in the entire year to train their kids and transform them from being average to geniuses.
Mr. Peter also said that the training would make the students so smart that they would be able to compete in International Mathematical Olympiads
farewell 2023
It was an occasion for the students to look back at the time they spent in the lawn of school and the professional education they acquired during the period and it’s a time to give blessings. A farewell program for the outgoing students was organized by the students of 11 std. along with higher Secondary teachers on Saturday , 4th March , 2023 in school campus. All the staff members from pre-primary, primary and Secondary were present there.
Principal 's Birthday day
On the 10th of March ’23 we celebrated the Principal ‘s Day in our School. It was a very joyful occasion where the SMS family along with the Manager Fr. Herald Mathais came together to greet Fr.Daniel Joy a Very Happy Birthday and invoke God’s blessings upon him. The programme commenced with a prayer service followed by Birthday song, cake cutting, wishing by students and teachers with bouquets, cards and a token of love. The students even performed a beautiful dance. The programme ended with the vote of thanks.
Fun and Frolic at Great Escape
On the 24th of February 160 students accompanied by 8 teachers and their Principal Fr. DanielJoy had a memorable time at Great Escape, a Water Park situated in Thane district of Maharashtra
The Children enjoyed themselves on the various slides and rides that the Water Park had to offer. It was indeed a great and once in a life time experience for many students.

Sr.Magdele’s birthday was celebrated on 7th Feb.
New Xerox machine was inaugurated by Sr. Magdelene and Our Prncipal Rev.Fr. Daniel Joy. Xerox machine is contributed by Std XII Science & Commerce Students of 2021-22 batch.
Live Disaster Management Demonstration
A team of experts from the Fire Department led by Mr.Bharat Singh Rathore imparted valuable knowledge to our children with regards to Disaster Management.
They demonstrated what needs to be done during rescue situations.
They enlightened the children on snake bites, drowning, earthquakes and fire rescue.
Career Counselling and Aptitude Testing
A career guidance program was organised for the students of Std 9 to 12 on 10th and 11th February 2023. Maa Foundation conducted a psychometric test and gave a career report to all the students which made them aware of their interest areas, personality type and various aptitudes to determine the future educational path.
Pariksha pe Charcha
The Live streaming of Pariksha pe Charcha 2023 was organized in the school hall on Jan 27 at 11 am for the students of std 6th – 12th. During the event, our PM interacted with the students, teachers and parents across the country and shared valuable tips on how to take board exam in a relaxed and stress free manner.
74th Republic Day Celebrations
The Republic Day was celebrated at St Mary’s Chanod with a lot of patriotic fervor on the 26th of January at 8:00am. The function began with the unfurling of the flag by the Chief Guest Mr. Vaibhav Dami.
This was followed by a one hour cultural program that comprised of march past, patriotic songs, dances, speech etc.
In his address to the students the Chief Guest spoke about the importance of education. He urged the students to study hard and make a future for themselves.
On this occasion students who excelled in sports and academics were also felicitated.
A Day Out at Imagica
On the 19th of January 210 students of Standards 8 to 12 spent a day to cherish at Imagicaa, a famous Amusement Park in Thane district of Maharastra. The park is renowned for its breathtaking and jaw dropping rides.
The children were accompanied by 8 teachers and their Principal Fr. Daniel Joy.
